I did that too but there is no OK button anyway and I find that sinister

Having googled, I shut it down and re-booted a couple of times.
Will see if the thing pops up again

I also had that message pop up recently and decided that it was too good to be true... I closed it down as Mags did.

I am always concerned about these things as I'm unused to stuff popping up ... I use iMacs and the iPad and am careful.

Wise to be careful these days.

Very true Irene and that's one reason I don't go in for online banking.

Re: iPad ... odd message pops up

On a PC this would be suspicious and I would immediately bring up task manager and kill off that process. I would of course NEVER click on any such pop up. Any Close button or Ok button may not be what it purports to be.

Whether you can kill processes on an iPad I don't know.

On my PC it would never have appeared as I have JavaScript disabled.
