Asti has a problem
Well, Tuesday morning one of her eyes was closed and wouldn't open so I got an appointment at the vets and took her down. The vet put some dye in her eye and had a look in her eye with one of those instruments with a light on it and said she had Uveitis. She was given an anti-inflammatory shot (Metacam), plus some eye drops and told me to come back the next day to have it checked on.
Asti's eye was open and looked normal this morning but looked cloudy in the pupil of that eye. I took her back to the vets this morning and she turned the light off and had another look in the eye with that instrument and she took Asti quickly for a second opinion. When she came back with her she said she thinks that Asti may have a cataract at the back of her eye and asked if she could be hospitalised today so they can run blood tests on her and give her a light sedative to properly look in her eye. So our dear little Asti is in there at the moment. I took her in at 9.20 am it's now 3.30 pm and waiting to hear when we can pick her up.
If it is a cataract at the back of her eye, it's very rare and unusual to have that at her age
. She's 8 in December.
I'll keep you all posted on her situation when she is back from the vets.
