Over thinking

I am guilty of over thinking everything .
The trouble is over thinking leads to doing nothing .
So from now on I am going to try and not think at all!
Does anyone else overthink ?

Re: Over thinking

In the past yes it made me anxious and fearful about life . Now I cope with one day at a time and tell myself whatever happens I will cope with it . This way life is more gentle .

Re: Over thinking

I am told by my family that I 'over think' things , everything I do is thought over and planned to the last detail. It is part of being obsessive about things

Re: Over thinking

I do it all the time Muddy, problem is with over thinking you lose sight of the original thought and the more you overthink the less you will understand

I find the opposite is true Summer by looking at something from every possible angle and thinking of every eventuality I am better able to come to a decision/conclusion.

Not overthinking but if something is worrying me I can't get it out of my head until sorted

Re: Over thinking

Is over thinking a bit the same as reading too much into things? If so, yes l do that occasionally!
Sometimes, overthinking can hurt your head...all that concentration!
