Wouldn't be anywhere else than where I am now. Was born and brought up here-would just love to have better weather though-but wouldn't we all

Yes, and I hate to see it coming.

It has to be the north west coast of Scotland, all those snow white beaches and nobody around for miles.

No, there was nothing on the news but I checked cnn on the internet and it said they had 2 ft. of snow which is not alot for there but 85 mile winds with that must have been terrible.

I guess I wouldn't retire there. lol

Re: If You Could Retire Anywhere In Your Country, where would it be.

I asked a similar question on Dogsey about a year back, and had some very interesting replies, and the same here it seems that there are many places one could move to for retirement but familly are often the reason in the end. As I only really have my brother who lives in Suffolk I guess that would be my choice. I definately do NOT want to spend my last years in Czech Republic.

Re: If You Could Retire Anywhere In Your Country, where would it be.

Now with 2 small chidren, although I'm not yet even thinking about retirement I don't think I could do the usual 'coastal' or 'rural' thing. I would ideally love to remain in the home I am in now - all 4 regency floors of it (keeps me fit), but failing that somewhere smaller but still urban . . . maybe a bit more genteel than Reading; Bath, Cheltenham, Leamington Spa . . . all locations I have experience of when travelling for work and all which tick my 'heritage' boxes.
