The single holiday

I have thought for a while that once Cleo went I would buggar off on the holiday of a life time. I`m downsizing so whilst not rich I have a few shillings.

Always fancied the sights of Northern India then drop down to Kerala in the South.

I did not think I would find anyone to help easily but after an hour of calls it seems not possible.

Hello I want my dream holiday-can go to around to say £7,000 for a month with tours.

Umm we will send you a brochure, you will have to phone another line...............oh sod it. A winter weekend in Skeggy then

Now come on Stephan ..
You know you didn't really want to go to India and were looking for an excuse to go to Skegness...
... (such a horrible name )

You could always go to Mablethorpe , I hear they have a model railway there, that should give India a run for its money

Do you mind me asking why you didn't go to a travel agent?
They make all the calls and take care of everything.

Have you tried online? For that sort of trip and budget I would suggest you contact Audley Travel (audleytravel.com). They will discuss in detail with you what you want and plan a tailor-made itinerary.

Go for it OG. I've holidayed on my own and my new found friends have. There are lots of experiences out there and we have to grab it. You'll have a brill time......and make friends along the way. Don't knock it until you've tried it

I will try again. It`s something I have wanted to do since Jenny passed but could not leave Cleo. Simple truth is that at posting time yesterday I was a little bit the wrong side of drowning my sorrows.

I went to get on a local bus and asked for a ticket to Bombay, the driver said they only went as far as Bexhill.
I pointed to the bus and said well its got India on the tyres
