September Weekend holiday

We've been with the Ramblers for the September weekend holiday. Weekend to St Bees at the Lakes. Omg it was absolutely beautiful. A great weekend, great fellowship, great walk over the cliff tops, lots of laughs along the way. New friends too. Have a huge smile on my face after it all, even although I have work in the morning.

Hope you all had a great holiday weekend

Sounds great - I'm glad you had a good time Alice.
About how long were your daily walks?

Carol, the walks were approximately 7 miles. Most of our Rambler walks are around 7 or 8 miles, the longest being 14. We go out hail, rain, or snow! Use only public transport to get from a to b. We're not car ramblers. The journey to our walk and back is part of the whole experience and we have lots of chats and laughs along the way. I've been told before that my tongue gets more exercise........

Alan the walk has spectacular views which you will know. Bit dodgy at times on the cliff edge, but well worth doing the walk as you can get lots of great pics.

Re: September Weekend holiday

Myrtle I hadn't heard of St. Bees before until we arranged this weekend. It's a beautiful place, with a lovely priory which is also worth a visit. We'd definitely go back, but have already planned our next September weekend which will be to Oban and the Islands - an area I love dearly and know well.

Thanks for posting this. I have been toying with the idea of going on a coach trip as a single for the first time. It's in Oban and the Islands in October. You may just have given me the wee push to book it that I needed.
