A new project this year ?

I'm considering restoring an old British motorcycle, . . it has to be a BSA, . . Norton, or a Triumph, . . all 650cc, . . I owned a 650 BSA many years ago and I love the way they sound, . . Japanese bikes just don't sound like British bikes did.

This is the same as the bike I used to own.

A Norton.

The Triumph Bonneville, . . sounds great eh.

It does sound different and not as loud. So great to hop on to go shopping and ride the hills of Scotland.

That Triumph is purring like a kitten Joan, . . had a look at prices in a magazine last night and they're asking a lot for some bikes around 30 years old.

My Dad had a Norton, a great bike and one well worth restoring if you can find one at reasonable price. Please keep us posted on progress.

Re: A new project this year ?

I've given up on the idea folks, . . . they're asking around £2,000 for a boxed bike, . . . a boxed bike is one which is laying in bits in a box, . . . and you've no guarantee all the bits are there, . . . sod that, . . . I aint a mug.

Bikes in working order are around 5 to 6 thousand pounds, . . . sod that too, . . . I shall do more work to the Barbie this year.

Why don't you get yourself a DIY Mountain Bike instead, Nero?

Re: A new project this year ?

That is alot of money Denis. I agree with Mags why not a mountain bike.

I'm saving for a rainy day or a car- hope the car wins out. I don't want payments, I can either afford it or not.

Sheryl & Erice here in town take three vacations a year in the summer and they let me use one of their cars each time they are gone. Also my daughter and son in law take a long vacation in the summer and they make sure I have one of their cars. So I have wheels most of the summer and I make the best of it.

Wish the motorcycles were not so expensive.
