Mine is an upright.

First rule, do it regularly so it never gets too bad.
I put a bowl of hot water in mine then shut the door, that softens the ice which can then be removed with a cloth and hot water. A through drying with soft tea towels and it is done.

The food goes in two cold boxes while it is cleaned .

ours is frost free too.makes life easier as we couldn't get down to hack away at it with knife and hairdryer and then clean up all the bliddy mess!

So what do people keep in their freezers? I have one Quorn roast and a bag of Yorkshire puddings.

Damsons/blacurrants/plumbs/home made bread/frozen chopped herbs/
Home made goats cheese tarts, roast vegetable lasagna, beef curry, steak and mushroom pies, cottage pies, fish pie, soup and beef skirt to make more of these dishes .

Pizzas ,Bread ,Burgers ,Fishfingers ,Peas,Steak .Chicken portions ,Berries .
