Good grief

Yesterday I went out with Vee and Mimi(her daughter). V arrives in a hire car. Now dear readers remember I bought V a decent second hand motor back in January 2015. It`s in the garage....head gasket,,,cost £900. WHAT I go. Oh yes the engine needs to be ground.

I`m no mechanic but I start to think damaged pistons or such like?

The moral(perhaps?) just now and again check the oil and water. And no I am NOT lending her the money this time. I always knew maths teachers tended to be forgetful.

Probably needs the head skimming ,ie a machine shop will shave mm,s off the cylinder head to make it flat, the valves will need re-grinding into the head to re seat them properly, and new valve seats as well, a very labour intensive job, and that is where the majority of the money goes, pistons should be OK, unless your talking cam belt breakage !
