Re: I've been done!!!!!!
Did you get an email from PayPal? I am being bombarded with them just now, I know it's not PayPal as there is a link in the email asking me to click on it to take me to the Site to alter something or other. Those Emails are from Hackers and if you innocently clicked on the link and answered, then that's how they got your details I'm afraid. I know that Paypal will never give you a link to use....They will always tell you to go to the Site in your normal way. These emails are so real and you do think they are from Paypal, but they're not. It's the same with Banks ect, none will give a link.Re: I've been done!!!!!!
Any dodgy emails that make it through my spam filter are forwarded to:-Re: I've been done!!!!!!
I never follow up emails from Paypal! I have them often but take no notice. I must have just had a rogue transaction when doing the donation on that Sunday. In future, I will NOT use a debit card to buy things on line. I will wait till I can get a pound sterling cash card, and use that. Once stung...!Re: I've been done!!!!!!
Getting sick of trying to sort this mess out. The bank re-credited the 3 earlier fraudulent transactions, but not the two Tesco ones. But, Tesco have re-credited me with £8.85, nowhere NEAR the £176.17 that was taken out!Re: I've been done!!!!!!
Re: I've been done!!!!!!
I was billed by PayPal, through the mail and via the debt collection company they also own, for a very large amount of money I had never spent.Re: I've been done!!!!!!
If you are going to do online banking then you really need to know what you are doing with regard to keeping your computer free from dodgy software and insecurities. If online banking or ordering is something you do regularly I would suggest keeping more that one computer if you are the type that likes to open all sorts of sites *cough*, especially porn sites, or you download stuff from dubious sources as doing so could well end up with your system being compromised.Re: I've been done!!!!!!
