Sat Navs

Hi

Stupidly dangerous things.

We had a fishing competition on Boxing Day, a man thing, avoid the sales.

Now ruined by this fiasco.

It is one of my favourite places to fish, park on the grass verge and away you go.

Only 8 of us, Guy included, he loves his fishing.

A real bummer, he would have been sat next to me, so I could help him as he is only one handed at the moment.

Blame the drivers, not the Satnav.

Re: Sat Navs

You can get special lorry sat navs , that take into account low bridges, single track loads, weight limits ect, drivers shouldn't slavishly follow satnavs , as they are only a guide,

It seems that the wrong post codes were entered.

Might be a bigger problem when driverless cars are the norm!

No they are not, it is the people that use them blindly that are stupidly dangerous.

Sat Navs are brilliant they save you constantly referring to maps. They can take you on short cuts you didn't know exist but you have to vet the route first - every sat nav I have owned has offered you a route which you can accept or change.

It could be argued that there are UK roads which are not suitable for general traffic and should be sign posted as such ie not suitable for vehicles over xx tonnes

They are in many cases, not the Satnavs fault if drivers can't read English.

Re: Sat Navs

Satnavs are great. On a four hour trip to Brighton this week the satnav took us direct to our destination even suggesting a less congested route, M40 instead of the shorter M1. it even warned us of delays on the M25.

Hi

Mine insists on taking me down a country lane just to save 300 metres.

None of the locals go down there, it is full of potholes and plastered with cow muck.

Whixall, where they got stuck, has no signs, so does not matter if you can read English or not.

If you come in from the other end, the signs are in Welsh, fluent in Welsh are you Purwell?

Platt Lane is shown on the map as a through road.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/...4!4d-2.7205096

That is just a joke.
