The tinsel dodgers thread

Count me in; I dislike Christmas and everything to do with it.

Perhaps this comes from less than stellar Christmases as a child...I don't know, but I don't know why people celebrate Christmas unless they are Christians.

Re: The tinsel dodgers thread

Just the thread for me, I hate the farce that is Christmas too

Over the years I have tolerated it to fit in with other people driving hundreds of miles through snow and ice to stay in someone else house and to eat food I didn't want.
I finally said no more, and through gasps of 'you can't stay at home alone' I insisted this is my time now .

Until quite recently I was a member of a volunteer organisation and for 10 years was on duty over Christmas including a 12 +hour night duty to allow the religious and those with young families to spend time together.
Those were some of my best Christmases

I'm going to have a good book to read and maybe watch some Netflix.

If I lived alone I wouldn't bother with Christmas.

Re: The tinsel dodgers thread

Ooohhh, my kind of thread!

I don't like Christmas, especially in recent years.

No tree, no decs, no special food.

On Christmas day I'll be decorating or doing other DIY after walking the dog. Will be just another day to me.

Since I won't be here, decorations are pointless, not that I would put up any decorations if I were to stay here.

Re: The tinsel dodgers thread

Why put up decorations when you're going to have to take them down a couple of weeks later....and all that Christmas mess - trees shoved into the maws of wheelie bins before December is out.
