Sheetrock Replacement: Can I?
A plumbing leak has resulted in a hideous stain in the living room that has left the plasterboard damaged and in need of replacement. For the sake of standard v. metric meaurements, it'a about the size of a kitchen table.
I just spent the morning waiting for an estimate that would essentially cost me a kidney, dog, and hot meal to do the work.
Which leaves me pondering...
When building his house, I saw my dad do this kind of work patiently and perfectly. I know it takes a fair amount of practice to do the work seamlessly, and he had me do some taping, mudding, and sanding so I have some very basic experience...
Do you all think this is something I could manage myself or am I better off leaving the Sistine Chapel work to a professional?
If you think so, what tools would I need...eg. how many/sizes of trowels?
