Sadly the new owners chopped it down, goodness knows why as it was a good distance from the house, and not likely to cause any problems.
I believe they can get to about 130ft high, so probably didn't want that near their house?
I haven't seen one of those for years.

I know this isn't a quality photo, but I love this tree.There are two in fact, one is sort of wrapped inside the bark of the other one. It fascinates me every year.
I go to see every spring because you get half of it smothered in a pure white blossom, and half in a beautiful pink blossom.
It looks beautiful when you are standing next to it.
