Trying to remember what an iambic pentameter is ... or was

Nah ... googled but still don't get it

Re: Mark's Poems & Prose

Why is it I need constant stimulation?
5 mins without causes consternation
And with idleness the Devil kicks in
And I go looking for trouble - a sin
Introspection don't seem to help at all
Cos as soon as I relax he comes to call
Am I evil through and through?
Or am I just drinking the wrong brew?

The Brew

Add ingredients to the cauldron
Simmer gently, let it stew
When it's cool enough to drink
Chuck the whole lot down the sink

This should clear any blockage.
However, if it doesn't work first time .... you're stuffed

Re: Mark's Poems & Prose

Voting in the general election

The talk of Suffragettes got to me
Yet knowing my vote would not count
Those courageous women of an age, now lost
How could I not honour them?

And here we are, once again with a problem
Women suppressed and hiding through veils
Voicing that this is their chosen apparel
When all is down to suppression once more

if anybody would like to add a verse or three, please go ahead

I think I prefer rhyming couplets. Getting to be a bit too 'arty' for my liking.

Come back to the fold, dear person
It is a crime and is far worse than
Stuff wot I writing at this very time
See how it flows in perfect rhyme

Some women like to be suppressed
It helps to get things off their chest
With minds confused oh what to choose?
He helps me rise from out the blues

I feel so safe once in his arms
And love his kisses and his charms
But also his stern voice and slap
Upon my bottom with his clasp

He helps keeps my life in order
And treats me like a privileged border
He tells me how to clear my brain
And then releases me from his chains!
