Your Favourite Dance of the Past

If you could pick a dance step from your past (if you liked dancing that is), what would you choose?

Me? I just shake around but perhaps the closest would be the twist. I was born in late '62 so maybe that's why

I loved the jiving, especially with the wife, she was a terrific jiver in her day, best in the local dance hall.

I wasn't much of a dancer AC. Never could do a decent Jive, but could just about manage the Twist.

Might seem strange, but I also used to enjoy an occasional Quick Step with me Dad if we all went to a dinner/dance.

I was very much a dance lover and sometimes went to the local Palais 4 times in a week. My favourite dance was the quick-step as it was very energetic.

Re: Your Favourite Dance of the Past

My older sister taught me to jive when I was in my early teens so that she could practise her own steps before heading on down to the Palais with her friends on a Friday night, and because of that I got to be quite a good jiver myself....

Definitely the Jive - I still love doing that - a close second would be the Paso Doble, the proper version not the exhibitionist stuff from Strictly.

My era was the floorboard watching dance, eventually converted to the dad dance. These days i make do with a nervous twitch.

The jive and a slow smoochy dance at the end of the evening!

As a kid I grew up with `greasers`-so did all the toe and heel stuff. I grew up and was more `hippy`

But never, ever, show off the toe and heel in your 50s-there I was in India with Jenny-I hit a step.fell down. I came back to the UK with a ruptured Achilles` tendon and was in a pot for 6 weeks

Jive and waltz. Love a good waltz, but it's decades since I had one.
