We went for a wander off the beaten track last night. I was shocked! Away from the posh hotels and swanky bars, lies a whole new place. Some of these folk live in sheds!They are so poor, it was shocking.
Hubby has seen worse, being in the Merchant Navy. But I cannot get over how people have to live in this day and age.
No lighting or proper sanitation!!!
We found some nice tucked away restaurants, a little further on. I suppose these poor folk work in them, watching, what must seem, the rich folk.

yes done that all over asia - some of the best food can be found in the back streets. we dropped into KL once and caught up with the laddie whose was working in Thailand. We didn't want to go to a swanky restaurant so my son said let's just walk along this high street and look for bright shining lights down the lanes - and we did and we walked down a lane and there was a magic scene - restaurants - local - street tables and seats - dogs hanging around -magic and great food without goin to the swanky places!
