A pair of Yellowhammers in my garden this afternoon, but I only got the male, they were very wary, so I had to take pics quickly & through the double glazing.

Good pics Tiff. Many of mine are through double glazing but I was lucky that the hawk was very settled and I was able to open a couple of windows to get the shots.

It's a shame that not all birds are so accommodating.

Thanks to both of you, I was lucky to see them, but shame I didn't get the female, she flew into the bush to the left of the pic.

Migrants continue to trickle in, mostly common birds with the odd rarity, an unusual one is a female Mandarin Duck that has taken up residence on a city lake.

Very smart looking bird.
