Falafels are good for vegetarians, they sell the Mediterranean and Moroccan kind at Aldi - they are baked instead of deep fried so fewer calories too.

Re: Suggestions Please - prep ahead finger food

I love finger foods - in fact we do them every Friday night.
There are some great ones here I've not done - so thank you all.
And thank you for starting this thread Effingpot.
Great story behind your name!

Mediterranean Pastry Pinwheels are a favourite, and are real good with wine!

I can recommend falafel, too and I like things like mini pakoras. Also feta cheese, olives and baby plum tomatoes.

Re: Suggestions Please - prep ahead finger food

Been playing with some of these recipe suggestions and others in preparation for next weekend. Few more to try tomorrow then decision time. They are all nice but some easier and quicker than others.

Top left to bottom right:
  1. Homemade Hummus with harissa in cucumber (easy peasy)
  2. Olive, Mozzaralla ball and carrot penguins (also easy, but fiddly)
  3. Eggs stuffed with yolk, avo, little onion (almost guacamole) - nice!
  4. More hummus and chips made from pitta bread, drizzled in olive oil and baked (quite nice, will rub garlic on next time)
  5. Feta, Ricotta and spinach baked in Filo (bit boring and took ages)
  6. Falafal as suggested above - easy and quite good.
  7. Parma Ham wrapped melon (bit 1960s but used up some Parma ham I had)
