Re: Do You Have A Fear Of Heights?

I can't handle heights at all. Including chair lifts like the one at Llandudno.
But I have been on them with some trepidation.

My earliest memory is of waking up in my pram, moving around a bit feeling in charge of things, and then being surprised as I lost control and toppled over the side.

It's as if my brain has not forgotten this and will not risk anything like that happening again.

Maybe?

My mum fell off a chair when she was pregnant. That's quite high for an embryo.

I twice fell out of a tree I was forbidden to climb, it didn't put me off heights.

Re: Do You Have A Fear Of Heights?

I love heights and always have. As a kid I was an incorrigible tree climber and as an adult I got seriously into rock climbing and mountaineering. This was a climbing expedition in Snowdonia with teenagers from my youth work days. The climber on the rope isn't me - I was the photographer holding on with one hand while taking the picture with the other! Happy days!!!

Re: Do You Have A Fear Of Heights?

No fear of heights here as my job entails the use of long ladders. I've fallen from ladders a few times but as they say with horses, just get back on. Was working from some scaffolding a good thirty feet above ground on Tuesday but for once, it had been erected properly and ladders supplied to get to the top. Climbing up the scaffolding itself can be dangerous but even worse when coming back down.

Yes, that's a long way to go. Reminds me of:

"But I'm still an embryo with a long long way to go..."
