Raging Fires in BC Canada

I feel very much for the people living in BC.

Fires are raging again, searing thousands of hectares of forest & land, making evacuations necessary & costing $5M per day trying to get it under control.

It's affecting Washington as well & it's always along the West Coast it seems. BC is already having a very hot summer, now with the smoke & particulates in the air, it's even worse.

I also feel so awful for the wild animals that may not escape.

We're very lucky here in Ontario as it's pretty insular & we don't have the monumental weather problems that our West Coast & East Coast does.

Re: Raging Fires in BC Canada

The worst of the fires are in the Kamloops region, which is in the interior of BC.
Washington state can see the smoke from them as it's on the border.
This map will give you a better idea:

Unfortunately, fires are not uncommon in the Kamloops area during the summer fire season.
I honestly don't know how the people there cope going through this nearly every year.

It must be dreadful to live in an area prone to fires for humans and the wildlife too...

Better get used to it because it is going to happen more, in places where it never did before.

I hope everyone stays safe and that pets and wildlife stay safe too. It happens here too almost every year, usually because some idiot decided to have a barbeque, all it takes is one spark.
