Do you like coffee or tea DING?

So what is coffee or tea DING.

Well it is made nearly the same was as ordinary coffee or tea but with cold water and milk. Then placed in a microwave set for appropriate lenght of time.

When ready guess what? THE MICROWAVE GOES DING.

Oh No! I don't like tea made in a microwave. I once went to someone's house and they made me a cup of tea in the microwave and l felt a bit insulted!
Imagine if the Queen visited and you offered her a cup of tea made in the microwave or a bag dunked in a cup of water.....Ooooh, l have just had a funny turn!!

Tea in a teapot that has been warmed then boiled water, preferably real tea through a strainer and not bags, but bags I will accept. Left to stand for 10 minutes before pouring.
Now to drink my Latte.

Dislike tea, haven't got a microwave, so make my coffee in the traditional way!!!

I dont make either in the microwave ,I just don't get the timings right ,it mostly bubbles over ,and makes a mess.

Boiling water in a microwave is actually dangerous! It can bubble over suddenly and cause scalding. Wasn't there a link posted on here not long ago of that particular danger?

So what's wrong with putting the kettle on and making a drink in the trad way?

I couldn't drink tea from a microwave it would taste 'stewed'
Coffee I make using a mug and a filter so that wouldn't work for me either, I don't drink instant coffee.

Sorry it's just not on, tea from a microwave.
It's as much about the ritual as the taste....
It would be like putting a body out for the bin men instead of the pomp and circumstance of a funeral......

I don't have a microwave anyway, I might have considered one to save time when I was going out to work but now I'm retired time is not my enemy any more.

The British are great because of tea.....
If truth be known, all of the immigrants waiting to access this pleasant land are not coming for the benefits or the jobs, it's the only place in the world you can get a decent cup of tea....

I tried it once in the microwave. It went down the sink after the first sip.
If you put a cold spoon into water that has been boiled in a microwave. Try it an see what happens. But stand well back and wear gardening gloves, goggles and hard hat.
I have a posh microwave. Apart from a grill and convection. It gives 5 dings when done.

I always make instant coffee in the microwave but tea with loose leaves in a teapot and boil the water in the kettle.
