There is a film called 'The Girl with the Pearl Earring', which tells the story of a servant girl who sat for her master, Johannes Vermeer, the famous Dutch artist.
Vermeer apparently painted this portrait as a commission for a patron, who had the painting done purely for it's pornographic pose.
Although this seems very tame now, when you consider the dress code for women in the 17th century's ultra conservative Dutch culture, who had to wear a bonnet that covered not only the hair but the neck and ears, even indoors, you can begin to see the attraction in the the pose of the subject.
The point I'm trying to make is that pornography is in the eye of the beholder when it comes to fine art.
