Re: wild flower identification please

Himalayan Balsam is yet another invasive species. Because the seeds explode out of the pods it colonises extremely quickly and particularly on stream banks. It's a nuisance though very pretty.

Himalayan balsam has a number of alternative names – Indian Balsam, Poor Man's Orchid, and Policeman's Helmet, as the flowers resemble that particular headgear. Another name for the plant is Kiss-Me-on-the-Mountain due to its connection with the Himalayas.

Well thank you all for your comments. I took a good few close-up pics yesterday.
Quite a few different colours of pink

The leaves and stems are unattractive but the flowers I find very pleasant.

Yep Himilayan balsam is a pest plant, but bees love them.

Thank you ... fascinating hedgehog-like shape when ? constricted ? (not sure if that's the correct word but I do know what I mean).

Reminiscent of the Foxglove wings beating on the petals as they work
