Music on your IPod/Shuffle

Just wondering what music you would choose to put onto your IPods? I have an IPod Shuffle (the little tiny thing) so I can have music in my ears at the gym!

So far I have Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms, The Very Best of Dwight Yoakham and a box set of Classic FM at the Movies.

Dire Straits was playing in my ear drums today and certainly made the time seems quicker.

I used to have my MP3 player on when I went and my favourite was Roxette's Greatest Hits, it's brilliant for getting your motivation going!!
I go to a ladies only circuit training gym now and they have a different system there so don't need it now.
I also love Brothers in Arms, still think Mark Knopfler is lovely.

Only heard of Mike Oldfield (Tubular Bells, of course) from that list. Will look up the others on You Tube.

It must depend how much memory the thing has. My MP3 player has 3953 tracks (I just looked) on it ie nearly all my music. I also use it for some weekly TV programs like Media Watch which don't really require you to see details on the screen (its only about 3.5")

It has 32Gb of memory but I think only about 19Gb is used for music. I am dreading the day when the battery becomes toast because its equivalent replacements only seem to have 16Gb of memory and are based on Android software now.

It has all the albums of Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Beatles, Captain Beefheart, Bob Dylan, Frank Zappa, Miles Davis - plus others I can't think of now, a number of albums of people like Dire Straits, Cat Stevens, Missy Higgins, Helen Shapiro, Eddie Cochran, Cindy Lauper, Pat Benetar, Neil Diamond, Leonard Cohen, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Mahler, Pete Townsend as well as musicals like Hair, Les Mis, West Side Story. Actually far too many to mention.

I have created playlists so I can hear suitable music according to my location and mood.

I take it everywhere with me.

This is mine, a Creative Zen 32Gb. These days they are all touch screen

Re: Music on your IPod/Shuffle

My MP3 has almost our entire collection of CDs on it and a fair few downloaded tracks too. Very eclectic from religious music to 50s rock and roll with a big nod to the 70s and 80s and country, also loads of opera and classical. Depends what mood I am in when I am working as to what I listen to, don't recommend anything to energetic when hoovering as dancing and hoovering you can easily put your back out

Re: Music on your IPod/Shuffle

I have 3 MP3 players as I like to use them when I travel and go away. As I am sometimes unable to recharge them I take 3 and that normally lasts me.
I have a lot of individual songs on my players. Love Guns and Roses, Bon Jovi, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles and individual songs like Wonderful Life by Black, Crazy, Owner of a lonely Heart etc.
Made my travel journeys really more interesting and quick as mentioned.
Time flies with a MP3.

Re: Music on your IPod/Shuffle

My iPod has pretty much all of my cd collection on it but still loads to go. Everything Dire Straits has recorded plus lots of Mark Knopfler since they split. Everything by The Carpenters, Chris Rea, Gary Moore, all of the movie music of John Barry, all five of the Rod Stewart American Songbook Series. It gets used far more in the car these days rather than indoors.

Re: Music on your IPod/Shuffle

I have two iPods, a 160 GB Classic and a GB iPod Touch. The Classic has most of my music collection on it. I have my favorite songs and some various applications on the Touch. The Touch has about 614 songs by over 350 artists.

I love a wide variety of music, although most of it falls into the rock or pop category mainly alternative, indie, classic and mainstream pretty much in that order. I categorize my music by favorite songs as opposed to albums or artists, but certain artists recorded more of my favorite songs than others.

The artists that created the largest chunks of my favorite songs are:

100 Watt Smile
20 Minute Loop
Kristin Hersh
The New Pornographers
Liz Phair
Regina Spektor
Suzanne Vega

Don't have an iPod, but have an MP3
I listen to most types of music from Classical to Trance. The only thing I don't like is heavy rock music.
Favourites are Elvis Presley, Abba, George Michael, The Human League, Fleetwood Mac, Oasis, Pet Shop Boys, The Carpenters and Blondie
