Re: Obamas leaving speech .

Personally I think that all American politics are based on emotion.
When they are fighting to be the new President, they go to different states saying exactly what the voters want to hear, but if they win how many of their promises are carried through?
When they win and become President, the Americans treat them like some super hero, when he is just the chosen face, and the running of the country is done by people behind the scenes. It is the Presidents job to make a decision on pressing the button if it comes to war.... why? because they will have a person to blame if it is a mistake.
Over recent years I have noticed British politics going the same way, so I just hope that having Trump as President will show America that their methods are wrong. Trump is full if his own self importance and will try to do things his way, so what will they do when their super hero becomes too difficult to get rid of?
How can the strongest country in the world only offer a choice of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton as leader?

This is a grey area, members of his own family alleged he was born in Kenya.

I'm going with them.

Re: Obamas leaving speech .

I agree with a previous posting...and have no idea how either Trump or Hillary got on the ballot..I never voted for either one of them myself. I do think the country wanted a change from the normal ho hum politics of the past and decided to take a chance on government being run more like a business than a political entity...Time will tell if we made the right choice or not. I will say that Trump has some good ideas and a great cabinet behind him, as well as a Republican Congress that will at least listen to those ideas...If Obama did nothing else in 8 years he gave a lot of eloquent speeches that were almost believable for the most part...All I can say is fasten your seat belts America, it's going to be a wild ride.

I don't know much about Obama but all I can say is that when I was in America, I spoke to several black people about him and they all thought he was useless.

I would concur with you, I've spent a lot of time in America during the last nine years and the man on the streets opinion of him is zip. In fact, it would be fair to say it's the man on the street who put Trump in power.

The problem there is he promised so much, Hilary was promising a lot too this time, trump has promised most. It will be interesting to see what happens if like Obama he can't carry through the promises, Obama was opposed at every turn it seemed.

Doesn't say much for the man in the street then dies it.
They're red neck racist bigots and bullies. Marvelous.

Did you ever see the TV documentary about his behaviour when he was developing the golf course in Scotland?
Man, that was an eye opener and a half.
Said the rural Scots lived like pigs and needed to be shown the way forward.
A f@#£_&-@#£ golf course!!!!!!

Based on that, does the same go for the man on the street in GB who put Brexit in place?

In America, the people I've come across are as decent as any.
