Hi
I have to disagree Barry.
The Salaries are very low in many areas of the Country where living costs are high and it takes years to get onto Band 6, even if such a job is available.
Renting a property is very expensive in many areas of the country.
People with specialist skills are walking and being employed in the Private Sector, on much higher salaries and often contracted back.
Admittedly there is no Pension, but a doubling of your wage and a company car more than offsets this.
The Government ends up paying more for the same people.
