That's what you call it when you don't know the name. I took a walk in the woods and spotted a bush full of these.

A very quick Google search tells me that it`s probably a Fiddlehead Fern Bob , edible and seemingly tasty when young ( before it unfurls )

It very well may be a type of fern as the area where I was walked is covered with ferns.
