Have just watched the new programme on the Beeb about surgeons working in Queen Elizabeth hospital - they deal mostly with reconstructive surgery. One woman had both breasts removed and reconstructed using skin and fat from her stomach. Another one had part of her skull and upper jaw removed along with her eye. A piece of bone from her hip was used to fill up the hole left behind. She will be getting a new prosthetic eye when she's fully healed. Both cases were as a result of having cancer. Yes, it is Judd, no doubt about that.I can't watch that sort of programme Judd, not exactly sure why.
It's not the surgery that disturbs me, I think it is the intense reality that scares me.
My dear friend in Scotland had her breast reconstructed from tummy flesh earlier this year too. She still died soon afterwards.
I know full well these dreadful things happen to some poor souls, and it really does disturb me. I don't want to see it in colour and detail as well.
My Mum died of cancer, and I looked after her for 7 years watching her die slowly. 3 of my friends have died this year too - one being my dear ex-husband - I can't sit and watch more of it on telly as well.
