Your word of the day!

Just for a bit of fun!

Thought it might be interesting if a new word (and it's meaning) is posted everyday.

Anyone can post a word, but you can only post one word a day, but please stick to this format The word in bold, pronunciation in brackets, and then the meaning (see my example below). Please also make sure the word (and meaning) is as seen in an a official reference, such as www.dictionary.com - thanks!

I'll start:

Something most of us here suffer with...

logorrhoea (log.o.rrhoe.a) - excessive talkativeness.

Re: Your word of the day!

Nice idea Azz, but it has to be a real word, not something some numptie news media idiot has just thought up.

I just checked Nero and Dandysmom and both their words are in the OED

Perhaps I could suggest your OP should have included approved references, I would suggest the OED and perhaps for our American members Websters (And don't let's start on the merits of one or the other )

There could be others, as long as they are respected references it's OK by me.

Have to go now but will try and put one on latter this evening
