Why on earth should this man who committed adultery earned £90k a year himself half of his high earning wife's fortune in their short four year childless marriage ?

I think if you've spent a lifetime together then yes, but short marriages like this should have a settlement proportional to the individual input to the marriage finances, although in this instance the husband's share was decreased later on appeal I believe?

I hope so it seems so unjust I don't see why he had to have anything as he himself was a good earner and brought about the failure of the marriage .
