Re: If Christmas is so wonderful...

We had a wonderful Christmas Day. Most of the family came round (including 3 of our gorgeous granddaughters) and I cooked dinner for 12. It was exhausting, but worth it. Today is just for me and my wife (and the dogs) - heaven!!!

Re: If Christmas is so wonderful...

We had a lovely day

A perfect Sunday

Few drinks at lunchtime after getting the dinner ready, then a lovely serve yourself, eat as much or as little as you like dinner and then some extremely funny films for the evening

No hangovers, no indigestion, no heartburn, no rows

Perfect

Still loving my Christmas, and it will continue until the New Year is brought in.

I REALLY, REALLY love seeing the New Year in Nommy.
I feel bursting with good expectations, and happiness beyond measure. I could kiss the whole world at midnight.
Always been the same on this night.
Tis true, sad old biddy that I be, I've never lost my love for N.Y. Eve.

Here's yours in advance, incase you go to bed early.

As I said before, the sooner this year is over the better.

Re: If Christmas is so wonderful...

Although I find the run-up a bit OTT, I had a great (and fun) day with family yesterday, drove over quiet roads this morning to see a couple of nephews I've not seen for a while and now have the next generation cheerfully and competently cooking Boxing Day lunch.

I do enjoy it and once a year is just right.

Re: If Christmas is so wonderful...

I think there's a case to hold the Christmas celebrations during the summer. Long warm days, with the possible use of the garden to have bbq's as well as the traditional roast. Have a few families of friends over so that there is plenty of chance to intermingle (i.e. escape from the forced family dull conversations).

By all means celebrate the religious aspect and prezzie giving in December. But a closed door policy and pj day sounds a real delight.
