Pets and the Cold.

The only pets we have are two rabbits. They have 12sqm inside to run around in and 7sqm outside in a closed in run. With the big cold on the way I spent two hours cleaning and stocking up the straw and hay to make it nice and comfortable for them including covering the sleeping box with blankets and sacks. Peanut (female) spent the day today in the sleeping box but Karlsson (male) spent the day sleeping on the stones outside by -7°c temperature.

I guess we can only do what we think is right.

Phew! Then it's not just our Karlsson that's a bit odd.

I'm debating where to get Holly clipped still on Thursday. I know she will get other dogs going in to be done, so why not mine? I don't want to drive there in the thick snow, either.

Maybe wait until the day before Jazzi, see what the weather's like, unless you just ask her if you can change it to the following week perhaps?

How much time does the lady need for cancellations, do you know?
You can't help the weather after all, perhaps she will get a lot cancel.

So I'm guessing it's still OK to get dogs clipped in winter. What I mean is, there's no risk in cold weather.

I shall still clip mine Kev, but not take it too close to the body, and they have all got fleecy showerproof coats to put on if the weather was extreme anyway.

We used to clip our late Duncan because he was hard to keep out of brambles etc but then we would put a jumper or coat on him to keep him warm. I'm not clipping Jenny Tib terriers body just trimming her head so she doesn't get her porridge in her chin hair

Re: Pets and the Cold.

I’ve messaged the lady and asked if we can postpone. Told her I don’t have a garden to let her out in and she needs walks, but I don’t want her to be cold. She stops and sniffs everywhere.
