There is a distinction between the two and their countries/peoples IMO, along with their psyches. I don't think anyone believes Russia is a democracy, but the USA is more of a democracy than Russia. If they really wanted to the people of the USA could get rid of Trump (not necessarily kill him) but I very much doubt the Russian people could get rid of Putin unless they managed to assassinate him.
As for Putin, getting rid of him would be as difficult as it would have been to get rid of Hitler. Taking him out would be the only way, imo.

I was reading something in the news this morning that Putin could be the richest man in the world, with an estimated wealth of £80 bn. Not bad for a man who came from nowhere.Do you think he may want to stay in control of Russia, rather than retire and sit on a beach somewhere, he could afford his own little island. But if he was no longer No1, whoever took over may decide it's time for revenge, and he may get something in his drink.
