They get a bonus which makes it seem very attractive to work her but as an example OH working in the metal industry getting €22 per hour was working alsoside a Romainian team who were each getting paid €10 per day and thought they were on a good rate..Yes their rent was paid 6 of them in one caravan!
This is another way of putting local people out of work and making the bosses richer.
Except the same thing is happening in Romania, Poland, Croatia etc because they have to import their own labour. So their locals who don't want to work as hard are also out of pocket and unemployed...

Correct, that's a hole in one. Polish companies are having to employ people from Ukraine and Slovakia because now wages in Poland are too high already. I have a small team in Krosno SE Poland and we are forced to look over the boarders for lower cost motivated labour. The best Polish workers are no longer on Poland.
Just look at the £ the fear of Corbyn is already showing.

Re: No Foreigners

From my own view, UK companies have deliberately recruited from abroad to keep the wages low. Save on paying towards UK pensions, sickness pay and holidays. They have also benefited from casual contacts instead of permanent contracts, so it's been a win, win, situation all around for them. Probably could be classed as modern day slavery. This all goes back to Blair and his allowing 3 million into the country. They had to have work, so our own workers suffered and everything changed.
With all that in mind, if the foreign workers go home or become fewer, then British Nationals will have more full time jobs, contribution towards pensions paid by companies, permanent contracts, higher rates of pay , and far fewer benefits claimed. Those on benefits, might be able to find work that gives them enough to pay their rent.
It's all very well for our generation of home owners to cast bad thoughts about those on benefits such as family tax credit, ( and most are not the scroungers), but if you have a family to feed have to pay the travel costs to get to work , which quite often is a healthy amount, as in this area you are required to look for jobs up to an hours travelling distance, all the bills and then on top of that find £600 to £700 per month rent plus council tax , part time hours do not even scratch the surface.
So yes, I agree fewer foreign workers are needed, give our young families full time jobs, and a decent working week, which includes family time together instead of staggered shift patterns where mum and dad pass each other in the doorway and children are left to their own devices. So far as people not wanting to do the jobs, that is a complete load of bull sh..t. If our young people work abroad, what jobs do they do ? The same as janitors, fruit picking, cleaners, hospital porters etc. etc.
Why should British Nationals with part time work be paying towards benefits and child tax credits for foreign workers ?

Hi

If you just increase wages and employment costs, the price of goods goes up, unless you increase productivity.

Productivity, with one or two notable exceptions, is our big problem.

I simply cannot agree about youngsters wanting to do all jobs, at least not around here.

This is an advert for a line worker

Pay rate of £8.42 per hour plus 15% Day Shift Allowance which equates to an annual salary of £19,385.08.
Company Pension
24 days holiday entitlement (including bank holidays and public holidays)
Formal and informal learning and development opportunities
Heavily discounted staff shop
A progressive working environment that puts its people at the heart of what it does

No formal qualifications required.

4 days on, 4 days off, loads of overtime available.

Good quality housing is cheap, so is the cost of living.

We have trouble recruiting locals for this type of work.

Re: No Foreigners

A sort of solution one I agree with has been put forward but as yet its not going anywhere because some countries are dragging their feet.
The idea would be that regardless of where you live or where your contract is signed you must be paid (at least) the minimum wage of the country where you are physically working your employer would be have to pay the tax and health insurence of that country too.

While some will say this bring more incentive to hire illegal workers the idea is to stop the legalised slave trade we have at the moment.

Oddly last time you posted like this I told people about the marvellous jobs, people tried to get them but not one managed. It was all locals only or we bring in gangs from Europe or the adverts were for show and the jobs were not quite as advertised with starting wages that brought it below nmw.

I'm not getting anyone's hopes up this time.

That's interesting cass, I can't see any reason for people moving from one country to another if their jobs are then filled by people from other countries. That seems like a reason for people to stay in their own countries and make them better.
