No.906: "Silent Cry" by Feeder (2008)

Staying quietly on the fringes of the 90's indie scene, but outlasting almost all of their contemporaries, Feeder continue to release some high quality albums. Great live band too.

No.905: "Seventeen Seconds" by The Cure (1980)

Robert Smith's post-punk band are one of the most sucessful 'goth'-type acts ever surviving nigh on forty years on the scene. This debut album features the brilliant 'A Forest', still my favourite Cure track.

No.904: "Aorta" by Aorta (1969)

Back to the more obscure stuff now and Aorta were an English progressive rock outfit who lasted two albums. This debut features a largely concept work about the working of the heart. Mighty fine it is too.

No.903: "Hello!" by Status Quo (1973)

Back in the days when Status Quo used to be a rock band...who was it who said that when ZZ Top made it big in the UK that they "make Status Quo sound like Chas & Dave"? lol!), Hello! was when of this English Institution's finest albums. Opening with the barnstorming 'Roll Over Lay Down' and including some great tracks...fancy some Caroline?

Re: Floydy's All-Time Top 1000 Favourite Albums

Just a couple to mention briefly before we get to No.900 (already!).

No.902: "Contact" by Silver Apples (1969)
Hot on the heels of their debut album featured earlier in my list, Contact was more of the same weird spaced-out electro-rhythms.

No.901: "Deguello" by ZZ Top (1979)
The 2/3-bearded Texan trio with a late 70's favourite. Fancy some Cheap Sunglasses anyone?

More ZZ Top later.

Funnily enough, I was listening to 'Caroline' this morning whilst on the exercise bike. Took me back to when we used to play it in the band (many years ago). It always got the crowd going. I loved Quo, they might have only known a few chords but they knew how to play them.

Good choice.

It was on the radio at work last night as well. Must be some sort of spooky thing going on with that song just now!
Yeah, great song bud.

Longfellow: I've just played that Clifford T. Ward video myself and I got a lump in my throat listening to it. An incredibly good track by a guy who lost his life to MS in 2001. What a loss of talent.
