Re: Pet Cremation

I'm sorry to hear the loss of your dog Tess.
I have my Cats ashes and the box he came in is 9" length and 6" high. They gave me a reading and a dried flower to go with it, I have his collar and name tag and photo with the box.

Re: Pet Cremation

That's nice Susie.
I'm thinking of putting a short poem or quote on the box or a line from a Pink Floyd song as that's who I named him after, my favourite band.
I have his collar, tag and a lock of his hair in my family memory box.

Re: Pet Cremation

Tessa, Life never dies it just goes on in different forms.. so I am sending you this poem.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain,
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft stars that shine at night,
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Luv those words Twink.
They were spoken at a dear friend's funeral a while ago.

Re: Pet Cremation

My Dad had a favourite poem called, "The Unsubdued "Can't do copy and post on my phone, but that was about beginning again.
On the way to the vet's there was a rainbow over the road and the following day I found a little white feather on the back doorstep
Sounds daft but I think they were messages.

I know we tend to look for messages to tell us a loved one , who we have lost, is alright..... but you have to ask "Why do we always find them when we are most in need of them?"...........So you could be right Tess.

I 100% believe this - and I have the words of the Rainbow Bridge under a photo of one of my boys too.

Re: Pet Cremation

Just before he "went" my daughter said, " look!" he was wagging his tail.
I just realised, I spent more years with him than either of my husbands. (13 years each) and was much happier too!
