Re: Frustration with 'The System.'

Just phone or email the one you want to see and i bet him/her will refer you to their secretary for an appointment. It's amazing how easy it is to bypass bureaucracy sometimes.

Just plead ignorance in the unlikely event of a challenge!

No Realist, my heels are fine, but thanks anyway.
It is the arches, ankles and toes mostly. I was told once that there is a layer of 'cushioning' on the soles of our feet, and mine has worn thin so sometimes it feels like I'm walking on bone. When I have over done it, they tingle like blazes.

Julie, I know exactly what you mean because I had the same happen to me a while back. I had to go back to the GP and start all over again. I didn't half tell the consultant off when I saw him again.
(Perhaps that's why he don't want to see me now)!

Barry, I have a feeling you might be right.

I wonder if memory foam insoles might help you mups ? They have revolutionised my feet, I used to rub enormous blisters on soles of my feet, but the cushioning has stopped that completely and seems to have replaced the layer you speak of in my feet.

I very much doubt it Swims, but the thought certainly cheered me up.

Tried it Julie, and it helps alot in the way it cushions my step, especially on hard surfaces - I'm better on tracks and grass land - but it still needs to have a tilt made under one side of the heel to straighten my balance. My left foot rolls in especially, I suppose because the arch has had it, so I tend to walk on one side instead of balanced.

(I shall have Victor Meldrew on in a minute, struggling to believe a word I say again).

Re: Frustration with 'The System.'

Malcolm, I don't really think they be happy trudging through various fields, brambles and thistles to come to the aid of one old dear and her dogs.

Talking of dogs, I asked my car insurance lot what would happen to my dogs if they were all in the car with me and it broke down, being as I have breakdown cover. I said it's no good rescuing me and leaving my dogs behind is it.
They said dogs would be "at the breakdown man's discretion."
I hate 'grey area' answers.

Well I'd have to stay where I was then, wouldn't I, cos I'm hardly likely to clear off and leave my dogs, am I!

Re: Frustration with 'The System.'

Simples.
Make sure you only ever have real dogs - none of those horrid, yappy little useless midget things.

Always carry a husky-type harness in the vehicle - and a whip.

In the event of a breakdown, hitch the dogs to the front of the car, sit on the bonnet (with the whip) and yell "mush, mush !"
Let the bloody things serve a useful purpose and tow you back to civilization.

When things are eventually sorted, you may reward the K9s with a feed of fresh cat.
