Re: RBS (threads merged)

But Mr Realist sir what about throwing money at Carilion and the railway franchises, why don't you talk of that?
Isn't that another form of nationalisation, public money but going to old school pals ?

Re: RBS (threads merged)

Question: How many scumbag 'nasty party members have shares in RBS or, given the sell off, have just bought shares???

The money put into RBS was never meant for investment. It was meant to rescue the biggest bank at the time in the world from going under and save the British economy. Much of the reason RBS being in the state it's in is because of European insistence that they sell off their assets and reduce their size.

There is an old saying in business that the first loss is the best loss. Whether RBS should have been bailed out at the beginning is debatable, and whether the taxpayer would possibly have seen a return on his money if he waited long enough is impossible to say. However selling off the shares now, even though at a loss, will free up some much-needed cash for the economy, possibly for your beloved NHS you constantly and disingenuously accused the Conservatives of wanting to privatise.

Re: RBS (threads merged)

Now the scumbag 'nasty party' barstewards have crapped on us again and sold off shares in RBS at substantial loss, the share price is rising.

I say Hammond is personally responsible for the difference between what he sold the shares at and their value now.!!!

Why don't you both back up what you say with fact instead of links to lies and innuendo. Its pretty obvious neither of you know anything about the financial world otherwise I might be prepared to stay around and debate it with you. The real blame lies with the well known Music hall act Brown and Darling. The shares will be years if ever before they get back to their original price just before they financial crisis. The money could be put to better use.

I did back it up with links, but you're either to stupid to read them or too steeped in scumbag 'nasty party' propoganda to understand alternative views.

Re: RBS (threads merged)

Time you learned that links to someone else's opinion are not facts, they are just someone else's opinion. Because somebody else believes it doesn't make it a fact . The fact that you have to keep digging out left-wing views from left-wing media to support your political dogma says an awful lot about you. It's you who doesn't understand alternative views. You don't want to hear them, which is why you post in the hectoring, abusive tones you do. You're just a very offensive unimportant little man who seeks make himself more important than he is by behaving like an aggressive bully. Unfortunately all your troll like behaviour detractsfrom the cause you're trying to promote and all it succeeds in doing is to make you look very foolish.

Carillion never went bust ?
The railway companies aren't heavily subsidised ?
Selling RBS shares was time critical ? had to be done now ?

I'll admit to not knowing anything about the financial world, that is why I am doubting the acumen of the people entrusted with handling our money.

And by the way........I agree, RBS should never have been bailed out.
