I've had quite a few - they are ok.
Nothing to worry about really.

Re: Has anyone here had an MRI scan

I was pleasantly surprised at how "painless" the experience was. Don't remember how long it took...30 minutes maximum I'd say. I was given medicine to relax me and I drifted off a bit. The noise wasn't a problem nor did I feel claustrophobic. I'd suggest ignoring the negative stories and try to stay calm. Good luck!

Re: Has anyone here had an MRI scan

Yes Meep darlin' - only a few weeks ago. Like you I'm asthmatic, also have: COPD, Emphysema and pulmonary Fibrosis, so I too have a bad (dry cough).

The MRI is not one long continueous procedure, there are stoppages in between (which would allow you to have a cough and splutter) and there is an emergency button too, so if you need them to stop for a few minutes, that facility is available.

As others have said, inside the tunnel, it is noisy, but you can have headphones and be plugged into some music too so you won't be too bothered by the noise. Anyway - good luck!!!

Re: Has anyone here had an MRI scan

Ihad 3 in 2015, each about 20 -30 mins duration, got to choose my music from a list, and my limbs were clamped in place and each session was broken into 3 sections. So not a real problem i just tuned out until the instructions came through the headphones. Im sure al will be well.
