just to get them back to 5% would be a start then all the investors would return
If you raise interest rates to 12% we'd end up with recession or worse. People with families are struggling as it is.

Raising interest rates to 5% would result in our borrowing costs going up from £41 billion a year to over £410 billion a year.

Economic suicide and massive tax increases.

Why would any Company come here and pay 10 times to build a factory then it would cost them to do so in Japan or Germany?
I am glad we finally agree wholeheartedly on an economic issue

Hi

Yep, good isn't it.

It is my son who is the economist, not me.

I know nothing.

Hi

My experience is that we do have highly qualified and valuable EU Citizens leaving the UK now because of the fall in the value of the £.

Locally we have a head cheesemaker leaving, 2 Hydraulic Engineers, a Paediatrician and 3 specialist nurses.

The high earners will always follow the money.

Conversely we low earners arriving, simply because they can still earn more here, especially with our low taxation system.

Indeed instead of making the NHS better (ie red bus etc) you have driven off your staff. Nurses are leaving and you can thank yourselves for stripping the NHS even further to the bone.

Meanwhile, the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) said there had been a 92 per cent drop in the number of EU citizens working as nurses – from 1,261 nurses in the month after the referendum to just 96 in December. According to the organisation, 24,000 nursing positions in the NHS were unfilled.

etc etc.

Hi

I disagree.

We have not yet left the EU, there is no guarantee that we will have free trade with with the EU, France in particular is out to punish the UK, along with others.

We need to make the UK a very attractive place to invest.

We need to attract foreign firms to invest here, which means low interest rates and low Corporation Tax.

We will soon be in competition with the EU, we need to flourish.
