Re: To anyone dealing with everyday joint pain

I take Vit D and fish oil. And was thinking of giving the gluten-free thing a try, although it's going to be very hard. I eat a lot of wraps, it's a standard go-to meal for me. That and I'll have to do some research to see what I'll have to avoid, besides the obvious.

I won't do the HRT thing. Stuff like that scares me.

Linda I took vit d as prescribed by GP not much help but added a magnesium oil spray each morning after my shower and I feel much better. You can't take in the vit d without magnesium I'm told.

Have a Google and you'll find so many things you need magnesium for its amazing.

Re: To anyone dealing with everyday joint pain

Yes, it is amazing. I already take magnesium every day because I used to get awful leg cramps at night, despite drinking tons of water. I started taking magnesium and the leg cramps are gone.

So I've got the magnesium, fish oil and vitamin D covered. Now I'm going to try cutting out gluten and see if that helps. I'll probably start next week because I have to find and buy the gluten-free versions of the products I use on a regular basis. I've suffered this long, what's one more week? LOL

I hope it helps. If not, then I'll know that isn't my problem.

Hope it is gluten then, it's maddening not finding the answer when you are in pain.

Re: To anyone dealing with everyday joint pain

I'm kind of hoping it's NOT gluten. But if it is, at least I'll know. The not knowing is what I hate. I already know I have bursitis in my hips, but now the pain is all over my body. However, since diagnosing the cause of joint pain is tough, it won't hurt to try some things on my own and eating a gluten-free diet is going to be my next step.

Thank you to Realist for the suggestion.

I know exactly what you mean but gluten is fairly easy these days to eliminate. Few years ago it was a pain to find anything to replace it.

That's very true. Even our local pizza delivery place offers a gluten-free crust. I may try that this weekend to see if I like it.

Saw fish and chip shop the other day advertising gluten free fish and chips, it's really catching on these days.

I love fish & chips. Chips, as long as they're straight potatoes without a flour coating should be fine. But fish is normally coated in a flour-type batter or bread crumbs, etc. So yeah, the fish is what I'd have to watch.

Re: To anyone dealing with everyday joint pain

I'm already kind of starting, although I don't have my gluten-free wraps yet (I have to order them, I can't find any stores in my area that carry the ones I want). Today's lunch is baked chicken and mashed potatoes.

Thank goodness potatoes are gluten-free. If they weren't, I'm afraid I'd have to shoot myself, lol.
