Worryingly, Swim, I could see a horde of remainers switching toward Lib-Dem. If you take that & the fact that Scotland & Northern Ireland may not go for "leave", what might we have left.

This appears to have been triggered by refusals, from the EU, to go for "parallel" discussions.

This is being done for either, she knows there's no decent opposition, therefore Tories gets another full term or if they lose, someone else gets to sort out the mess they've made.
Corbyn needs to step down or at least get rid of Abbott if Labour are to stand a hope in hells chance.
I predict another coalition if it goes ahead. That might be a good thing.
Either way, I think we'll need Heaven to help us! What a mess!

Re: general election 8th June!

Out of the blue innit. Could be a very good tactical ploy. I don't see why it wouldn't be. I mean look at the opposition - not really much of it is there. You have the Labour Party rendered absolutely toothless by JC (and others), along with the raving Lib Dem guy Tim Farron who many despise - and I mean that in the nicest possible way (not that there is such a way of course) - oh and the SNP with the one track minded, totally fixated Nicola Sturgeon. I mean going by this there really isn't an opposition what I can see of it. As for UKIP I think many will vote Conservative instead.

Lets have an end to this once and for all. Vote Conservative .

If he gets rid of Abbott, I might even turn socialist!

Ted against that we have the fact that in spite of all predictions following a leave vote the sky didn't fall in .
Ok the £ fell and that was a mixed blessing but our economy remains strong and that could persuade a number of voters of all persuasions who reluctantly voted to remain because of the dire predictions to support May now.

Hi

The Conservatives will not get another term in power and most certainly will not get an increased majority.

I know this to be a fact.

Corbyn has just said so and Diane Abbott is looking forward to the Election and has said Labour have been planning for it.

Re: general election 8th June!

even if Jeremy and The Abbopottamus are in their little dream world, I think other Labour MPs have seen which way the wind blows
I watched Daily Politics as the news of the election was being discussed
We had the unpleasant spectacle of a couple of Labour MPs squirming & grovelling, and trying to tell us that when Labour supported Remain, what they really meant was that they supported Leave

Re: general election 8th June!

Something she had to do I think, she needs to know that she has the backing of the country, there will be some stormy waters ahead so we need a leader with a strong mandate, which she will never have without holding an election to allow the nation, once again, to decide.
