Only in the US?

This afternoon I saw a programme on amazing medical recoveries.

One lady lost the sight in one eye because of a 100% blockage in a blood vessel in the Retina.

A few years later tests revealed a 75% blockage in the other eye....fearing she'd lose sight completely her brother booked her in for a skydive experience.

When she landed her sight had returned to near normal....it is believed that the pressure and terminal velocity reached (123mph ish)had cleared the blockages.

A lovely story, a happy ending.

Well, the disclaimer came after...when the presenter stated that skydiving is not a cure for blindness.

Hope the blockages don't move to her brain and give her a stroke.

I recall someone in the news many, many years ago who had been deaf for a very long time, and while on an airliner the pressure change somehow fixed it. He was resigned to the deafness returning as they landed, but luckily it didn't, so he was ecstatic.

Re: Only in the US?

Someone at our local church went on a last trip he had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and wanted to go on a participular ride in Japan. Scared the beejeezus out of him but when he returned all trace of any cancer was gone ! Being a church goer he reckons it's a miracle and has devoted his life to helping the poor but being a believer that also believes in science I'm just very confused about it all.
