Re: Mulling over the future...and what's in store.

Thank you I was never sure and one day made a mistake caused a chap to get quite apoplectic that I didn't realise his was a ship. Some people are very sensitive about size of things aren't they

He'll be long gone by then.

Safety is a main concern and a worry when sailing single-handed.

Falling overboard and seeing your boat disappear into the horizon would be horrific.

My neighbour can vouch for that first time he ventured into the English Channel he had to be rescued. His boat hasn't left his garage since I think he scared himself he won't even tell his wife what really happened that day

The UK is rather silly when it comes to boat ownership.

You buy a boat and you use it...no requirements for any sort of licence or certificate of competence..not even insurance.

We are a little too relaxed in our approach to the dangers...we have the Coastguard and RNLI to fall back on should we be in danger.

I really like it and the finished article could be like this.

I know someone with a boat like that, last time I spoke to him he gave me the definition of a boat "A hole in water into which you throw money"

Unlike the others I think if you can make it to the Virgin Islands then go for it
