Unlike the others I think if you can make it to the Virgin Islands then go for it
that is exactly how they(boats)are described.
I owned a Fairline Targa 40' pre divorce and it was horrendous on fuel...200l of diesel per hour at 25knots.
Then berthing fees, annual lift-outs to clean its bum, servicing etc. can run into £15-£20k per year with ease.
If I were to cruise The Med the boat in the OP would be ideal with a bit of tweeking.
For the Atlantic crossing to BVI's and beyond I'd have something like this...much slower, wind dependent and much cheaper to run.
