Allotments trashed

Here we go again with the allotment vandals.

In Poole, Dorset, a group of 99 allotments were vandalised over three days.
Windows of 22 sheds were smashed, doors prised off their hinges, tools thrown about, polytunnels slashed, veg pulled up, and water butts and compost bins pushed over .

A lot of the allotment members were elderly and are so upset they are thinking of packing it all in, even though they have paid the rent for 2017.

Dorset Police know who the vandals are and have said "they have spoken to a number of youngsters in their homes." No arrests have been made.

I feel so sorry for the allotment holders and can understand why they have lost heart.

Never mind "speaking to a number of youngsters in their homes", if they know who they are they should be made to go back, apologise to all concerned and put everything back the way it was with the help of their parents.....

I would much prefer in this country if Children did things like this and the police had word with them I would like to see in the Local paper.

"The police had a word with 14 year old Joe Blogs of 13 Railway cuttings"

Heaven forbid,splinters and blisters abound,they'd have the elf and safety police on to it.
A bloody good backhander from their parents would help,but not allowed to do that now.

Why do people do this, it's so unnecessary. Bet their parents are a type too, the type did it themselves when they were young or the type don't know where their kids are at all.

..and their parents should have to pay hefty compensation.
It might help them to take more notice of where their children are and what they are doing.

Maybe they should be forced to pay the ground rent for all those affected, or at least for the ones who are now thinking of leaving.

Where oh where do these kids find the respect they should have for others ? No hope for the next generation.

Maybe these kids are all too thick to even think that they are trampling someone's pride and joy.
