Salford City Council report

Salford City Council has carried out detailed investigations into the the DWP's 'sanctioning' of benefit claimants and the subsequent report makes stark reading.

It shows the extent of the 'nasty party's' despicable behaviour towards the poorest and weakest in our society.

The Big Society in action, as long as there is no effective opposition in this country more will follow. We are all in it together, i dont think so.

It could never work in a country where we don't have enough jobs, it's one thing trying to move people into work but a fundememtal point would be there need to be jobs for people to do.

There are still jobs despite technology but they should be shared more fairly. What happened to shorter working weeks, job sharing and the other proposals we had when it became clear technology would replace so many jobs? Instead, wages were cut and people were made to work longer hours for a decent wage. Putting more people on the dole. Profits rise as wages are sqeezed so the rich get richer and the workers get poorer.
