Re: What book are you reading now?

I am at the end of my current read and now have to decide between Goethe's Faust Part One or The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. I am leaning toward Faust.

Finished a Sam Hayes (now known as Samantha Hayes) yesterday, and the next one will be...(goes to look)...

Down among the dead men by Kerry Wilkinson.

If no good will go to the next one (all from library).

Re: What book are you reading now?

"Seven Pillars of Wisdom". Lawrence of Arabia's account of the Arab Revolt against the Turks in WW1, (as if you didn't know). Two things especially stand out; (1) The ability of a short, lightweight Englishman raised in Wales to endure the almost unimaginable hardships of life in the desert and indeed to accomplish what he did under those hardships, and (2) the extremely enlightening descriptions of Arab life and culture in those times. What Lawrence tells of the Arab culture actually gives a very useful perspective on current events.
