Damn sore thanks dongles.
Difficult to shower because can't stand the water touching it.
I can't cover it to stop my clothes rubbing either, because I can't reach.

The Aloe soothes it for a while though, although it is a work of art to apply it.

Thanks for asking too, Susan.

I shall Gummybud a good before the day is out, I can feel it coming.

Mups I know that Dongles is a nice man, so perhaps he will come round, twice a day, to apply the Aloe Vera cream.

I bet you would make him a bacon sandwich if he did.

I think I know what has happened now.

I think it's an ice burn from when I had an ice bag on my back the other evening for back ache.

I know not to put ice directly on bare skin, so dropped it into an old pillow case first.
I over did it and wasn't paying attention..
When I went to take it off I remember it seemed slightly stuck to my back, but I just peeled it off and didn't think anymore about it.

Next day where the ice had been, my back was red raw.

Been doing some googling, and apparently as long as there is redness and feeling, it is safe to home treat, but if the area goes white and hard you must get medical help.

Could take a couple of weeks or so to get better apparently.
What a twerp ey.
Sorry Mups, our posts must have crossed.

Yes, ice placed directly on the skin will 'burn' even through a pillow case.

Hope it is feeling a bit better now. At least you know what caused it.

Re: A weird patch

My poorly back is finally improving today. It is not so red and angry looking, more a delicate shade of pink and the area is nearer 3 -4" now than the original 6 or 7".

I have got quite inventive now, at applying my Aloe gel with the aid of long cooking tongs, and two mirrors.
It really is marvellous stuff you know.
Everyone should keep an Aloe Vera plant at home, sooo soothing.

Thank you for all your thoughts and advice, I am on the mend now. x
